Parrish to rent out splash pad for parties
The Parrish town council said on Tuesday it plans to start renting out the town’s splash pad and pavilion for private parties.
The popular spot for families in Parrish was closed last year as the splash pad was undergoing repairs in 2021 and in 2020 due to COVID-19. Since resuming operations June 1, Parrish mayor Bubba Cagle said the reopening has been a resounding success for the town and residents.
“There was one day when it was overcast and rainy where not many people were out,” Cagle said. “Other than that people have been loving it. I went out myself one day last week and the kids were having a great time.”
With the splash pad’s success, the council announced at Tuesday’s meeting that the town will begin to rent out the on-site pavilion during regular operating hours for $100. The cost to rent the splash pad after hours will be $200, with a $100 deposit paid upfront.
Anyone interested in more information is encouraged to call town hall at (205) 686-9928.
Town looking to fill housing authority vacancies
The council also announced on Tuesday that they will be looking to replace three exiting members of the housing authority board.
The council will hold a special workshop session at 6:30 p.m. On Tuesday, June 28, at the town hall to interview candidates.
Mayor Cagle said that if anyone is interested in more information to leave a message for him at town hall and he will give them a call back to answer any question.
